Design Concept

Taiwanese designer brand yunivers hsieh's first collaboration with the renowned card anime "Yu-Gi-Oh!" has launched 12 commemorative products, including "Monster Embossed Mechanical Watches," "Yami Yugi / Seto Kaiba Sunglasses," and "Yu-Gi-Oh! Scarf Tapestries." The classic monster elements of Yu-Gi-Oh! are perfectly integrated to create nostalgic accessories. Let's step into ancient Egyptian civilization, explore Yami Yugi's memories as king, and return to manga artist Kazuki Takahashi's world of games to once again experience the charm of card battles he brought us. Are you ready to become a duelist of destiny?

To incorporate the aesthetic of Yu-Gi-Oh! card monsters into modern fashion items, the designer approached it from an "craftsmanship" perspective, thinking of the "embossed" card types. This led to discussions with the licensor. We first went through continuous back-and-forth supervision using 3D computer simulations, testing the casting, polishing, electroplating, and spray-painting techniques for the embossed monsters. Finally, these were embedded into the watch dial, combining durable materials with precise and reliable movements, resulting in five ultimate monster embossed mechanical watches!
