The most versatile artist of the 20th century.

Salvador Dali was a highly creative artist and is considered one of the most representative painters of the 20th century, alongside Picasso and Matisse. Besides his creativity, Dali was also the most versatile artist, showcasing his profound talent in various art forms, including painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, screenwriting, and directing. He successfully intertwined his personality, lifestyle, and artistic creations, expressing himself through different mediums.

In Dali's works, we often see him using collages, dissections, intersections, and fusions to present his inner world or dreamscapes. Through his paintings, Dali expressed his crazy world, and his creations truly allow the audience to feel the infinite possibilities of art.

Design concept of DALI WATCHES

After admiring Dali's world, one cannot help but marvel at the artist's greatness and creativity. Among his many works, "The Persistence of Memory" is the one that fascinates me the most. It uses the image of a clock to express human disappointment and fear of the passage of time through the transformation from hardness to softness. In this collaboration, I chose the painting "The Search for the Fourth Dimension," which also features the element of the soft clock, as the main image. The golden, large, floating clock and the deformed hour hand perfectly present this concept.

Design Concept for DALI WATCHES

During the design process of the Dali watch collection, we decided to use the brand's classic "Fusion Series" to resonate with Dali's ever-changing style. We printed his artwork with ultra-high resolution on the dial, and added distorted metal Roman numerals to represent the concept of time. We also incorporated Dali's iconic mustache-shaped hands and used a color palette of gold, green, and gray to express the mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere of his art. Our goal was to capture the essence of Dali's spirit through the design of the watches.
