XRAGE 9th SERIES

yunivers hsieh collaborates for the first time with the Japanese-Taiwanese streetwear brand XRAGE (エックスレージ) to co-design the "XRAGE 9th Anniversary Limited Edition Watch." The timepiece inherits the brand’s signature dark aesthetic, conceptualized around the traditional Japanese "Tsukumogami" (spirits that inhabit tools or objects that have reached their 100th year, in this case, the "Ushi-oni" or Ox Demon). The watch features a color palette of black, purple, and beige, extending from the dark watch case and black leather strap to the uniquely designed dial. The hands are modeled after the claws of the Ushi-oni and accented with a branded second hand, while an embossed logo of the Ushi-oni wreaking havoc is hidden on the case back, perfectly completing this 9th-anniversary commemorative timepiece.

XRAGE 9th Anniversary Watch Design Concept

The overall design concept of the watch is an extension of the "XRAGE 9th Anniversary Tsukumogami Yokai" motif. The dial features a dark, brushed electroplated metal finish, complemented by anodized metallic purple markers and subtle grey accents. The hour and minute hands are crafted from copper molds in the irregular shape of "Ushi-oni claws and fangs," hand-painted in beige, while the second hand bears the brand name "XRAGE" with purple detailing, symbolizing companions perpetually traversing the claws of the yokai. The case back features an embossed "Yokai Rampage" logo, showcasing the aesthetic beauty of relief metalwork and adding a unique commemorative significance to this collaborative timepiece. Finally, the watch is housed in a premium, handcrafted leather box, featuring a ring-box style opening mechanism and dimensions that enhance the sense of ceremony upon opening, conveying the watch's high-end appeal.

XRAGE Brand Introduction

Established in Shibuya, Tokyo in 2014, the brand brings together designers from Japan and Taiwan. With the Japanese term "Nakama" (partners) as its brand spirit, it specializes in using kanji as a design element to showcase a strong Japanese style.
