Design Concept

The INTERSTELLAR SERIES is inspired by Christopher Nolan's classic sci-fi film "Interstellar." Re-exploring the connections between space, the universe, black holes, and time, it breaks away from the conventional circular watch design that dictates the logic of time. Instead, it adopts a new, unconventional slanted elliptical form to express the mystery and charm of the cosmos. This series features four models: "Speed of Light," "Big Bang," "Black Hole," and "Golden Planet."

Time is relative. It’s relative to where you are, what you do, and who you are waiting for. "Interstellar" 2014. In the universe, time has always been a special existence, felt but hard to explain. While circular forms appear perfect for representing time, they are quite unnatural. In the cosmic dimension, distorted ellipses are the norm, evident in the trajectories of celestial bodies, gravitational influences, and the twisted lines of spacetime. Therefore, we re-introduced this "distortion" into the device humans use to display time, thus giving birth to the Interstellar Series.

To achieve the slanted elliptical shape, we reconfigured the internal structure, rotated the movement, adjusted the strap connections, and designed a special case back. The overall design features curved surfaces and polished mirrors, evoking the texture of an alien spacecraft. The design techniques for each model in this series are as follows: 1. Speed of Light: We re-arranged the lengths of the 12 o'clock markers to convey the sensation of light speed. 2. Black Hole: Through PVD black plating and concentric circle patterns, it presents the mysterious solemnity of a black hole. 3. Big Bang: Metal appliques explode outwards from the 12 o'clock position, complemented by sword-shaped hands with a fully mirrored finish. 4. Golden Planet: The entire watch is presented in a light champagne gold, adorned with metallic appliques featuring lines resembling the Earth's longitudes and latitudes, showcasing the beauty and grandeur of a golden planet.
