Design Concept

Taiwanese designer brand yunivers hsieh's first collaboration with the famous card anime "Yu-Gi-Oh!" project, presenting a total of 12 commemorative products including "Monster Embossed Mechanical Watches," "Yami Yugi / Seto Kaiba Sunglasses," and "Yu-Gi-Oh! Silk Scarves." The classic Yu-Gi-Oh! monster elements are perfectly integrated to create nostalgic accessories. Let us step into ancient Egyptian civilization, search for Yami Yugi's memories of the King, return to the game world of manga artist Kazuki Takahashi-sensei, and once again experience the charm of card games he brought to us. Are you ready to become a duelist of destiny?

To integrate the aesthetic of Yu-Gi-Oh! card monsters into modern fashion items, the designer approached it from the perspective of "craftsmanship," inspired by the "embossed" card types. This led to discussions and communication with the licensor. We first went through continuous back-and-forth reviews with computer 3D simulations, testing the casting, polishing, electroplating, and spray painting processes for the embossed monsters. Finally, these were embedded into the watch dial, combined with durable materials and precise, reliable movements, resulting in five ultimate monster embossed mechanical watches!
