Design Concept

The UNIVERS SERIES concept is derived from the classic Swiss Univers typeface, focusing on excellent legibility from both near and far. It features three quartz watch models in snow silver, ink black, and gold, with a Kyoto ceramic dial and blue-green luminous numerals to present a simple, minimalist, and stylish watch.

The UNIVERS SERIES is inspired by the classic Swiss typeface, Univers, a Western sans-serif typeface designed by Swiss designer Adrian Frutiger in 1957. Univers has always been popular for its clear lines, excellent readability at various distances, and elegant style, often used in text design for space and aviation. Yunivers Hsieh extends the style of this classic Swiss typeface to watches, time, and numeral dials, expressing a minimalist and classic watch design.

In terms of product design, the UNIVERS SERIES applies the typeface to the hours and minutes, arranging numbers and markers neatly and cleanly to form a circular time-sequence ring. Paired with pure white hands, the spacing is arranged with clear legibility as the main focus, allowing for quick reading and understanding whether viewed up close or from afar. The bottom surface uses ultra-pure black Kyoto ceramic technology to express the beauty of deep space, while the clear, pure white typeface is printed with bright blue fluorescent agents, presenting a new sci-fi and stylish dial aesthetic.
