Design Concept

The INTERSTELLAR SERIES is inspired by Christopher Nolan's classic sci-fi film "Interstellar." It re-examines the connection between space, the universe, black holes, and time, departing from the ordinary round watch design to present the logic of time. The new design features an irregular, slanted elliptical shape, expressing the mystery and charm of the universe. This series includes four models: "Speed of Light," "Big Bang," "Black Hole," and "Golden Planet."

Time is relative. It’s relative to where you are, what you do, and who you are waiting for. – Interstellar, 2014. In the universe, time has always been a special existence, perceivable but difficult to explain. While a circular representation of time seems perfect, it is quite unnatural. In the dimensions of the universe, a distorted ellipse is the norm, evident in the trajectories of celestial bodies, the effects of gravity, and the warped lines of spacetime. Therefore, we reintegrated this "distortion" into the human device for displaying time, thus giving birth to the Interstellar Series.

To achieve the slanted elliptical shape, we rearranged the internal structure, reorienting the movement, adjusting the strap connection points, and designing a special case back. The overall design incorporates curves and mirror polishing to evoke the texture of an alien spacecraft. The design techniques for each model in this series are: 1. Speed of Light: We reconfigured the 12 o'clock markers with varying lengths to convey the sensation of speed. 2. Black Hole: PVD black plating and concentric circle patterns create the mysterious solemnity of a black hole. 3. Big Bang: Metal appliques burst out from the 12 o'clock direction, complemented by fully polished sword-shaped hands. 4. Golden Planet: The overall design uses light champagne gold, paired with metal appliques featuring elliptical earth latitude and longitude lines, showcasing the beauty and grandeur of a golden planet.
