The lacquer art series is newly launched. This series was developed in cooperation with the lacquer master "Jiang Kunyuan" to create five styles with the theme of Japanese raw lacquer, namely "Shenjin Zhulacquer", "Shenjin Black Lacquer", and "Slip-up Zhulacquer" , "Wrinkled Black Paint" and "Ice Crack" ("Wrinkled Black Paint" is made using the principle of "paint shrinkage". Although it is not a traditional mainstream operation, we try to bring such special patterns to everyone) . This series uses various lacquer techniques to create a new look of the watch. The whole series uses the vermilion color of natural lacquer, combined with lacquer color, gold powder and other elements, to complete a craft watch full of strong Japanese flavor!

The concept and history of raw lacquer

Taiwan is called "raw lacquer", "tree lacquer" and "natural lacquer", China is called "big lacquer", and Japan is called "うるし, lacquer". In Japan, "lacquer" usually refers to tree lacquer. Lacquers such as paints are classified as "paints". Raw lacquer has a history of more than 6,000 years of use in China, and its works include "Qingshilu" (recording the use of lacquer), while Japanese lacquer has a history of 2,000 years, and the technology is mainly imported from China.

Although China has a long history of using lacquer, it was mainly porcelain in the future. Japan has continued to improve in the field of lacquer, so its production technology and refining technology are relatively strong. The common lacquer on the market can be divided into three types. Chinese lacquer and Japanese lacquer For lacquer production, the quantity of Japanese lacquer is small and the price is high, while the lacquer produced in Vietnam is mainly used in Vietnam (the lacquer tree in Taiwan is a Vietnamese species). And lacquer craftsmen are becoming rare day by day. One of the main reasons is that raw lacquer is prone to severe allergic reactions when it touches the skin "before it is dry".

Collection and application of raw lacquer

Raw lacquer is collected by cutting the bark of the lacquer tree and collecting the sap (nutrients) from the lacquer tree. The biggest difference from other tree species is that the content of "urushiol" is very high. The higher the urushiol content, the better the quality of the lacquer (hardness, color and luster) , Elasticity) Lacquer trees need to be collected manually, and each time the quantity is scarce, making raw lacquer materials expensive, ranging from three to seven thousand Taiwan dollars per kilogram of raw lacquer.

In addition, after lacquer treatment, it can withstand high temperature, acid and alkali, and antibacterial. The "hardening method" of raw lacquer is different from ordinary paint. It needs an environment of normal temperature (25~28) and high humidity (60~80%) to produce a hardening reaction. , and basically an irreversible chemical reaction, so natural lacquer is one of the few materials that can withstand strong acids, and can withstand high temperatures up to 200 degrees in an instant.

Hardening and Gloss of Raw Lacquer

Generally, the lacquer is in a semi-dull state after hardening, and has a warm luster. Because the molecular structure of the lacquer is very fine, it can be polished, and the degree of polishing can be improved to a mirror effect. Luse polishing and Luseshi above refer to grinding the paint surface to above 2000 sandpaper, and then polishing the surface with abrasives, and before each polishing, a very thin "raw lacquer" will be wiped on the surface to penetrate and conjunctival (similar to Coating), the action of rubbing paint + polishing needs to be repeated at least 5 times before the gloss will appear. The common polishing powder for lacquerware is "Lu color powder", and its precision is below 0.1 micron.
