Design Concept

Taiwanese designer brand yunivers hsieh's first collaboration with the famous card anime "Yu-Gi-Oh!" features a total of 12 commemorative products, including "Monster Embossed Mechanical Watches," "Dark Yugi / Seto Kaiba Sunglasses," and "Yu-Gi-Oh! Silk Scarves." The collection perfectly integrates classic Yu-Gi-Oh! monster elements to create nostalgic accessories. Let us step into ancient Egyptian civilization, explore Dark Yugi's royal memories, return to manga artist Kazuki Takahashi's world of games, and once again experience the charm of card games he brought us. Are you ready to become a duelist of destiny?

To incorporate the aesthetic of Yu-Gi-Oh! card monsters into modern fashion items, the designer approached it from the perspective of "craftsmanship," recalling the "embossed" card type in the game. This led to discussions with the licensor. We first went back and forth with 3D computer simulations for supervision, testing the casting, polishing, electroplating, and spray painting processes for the embossed monsters, and finally embedding them in the watch dial. Combined with sturdy and durable materials and precise and reliable movements, five ultimate monster embossed mechanical watches were completed!
